- Limited charging points, rules over sales hamper electric vehicle adoption in SingaporeSouth Korean vehicle manufacturer Hyundai Motor’s fast-charging Ioniq 5 electric sport utility vehicle is among the new cars slated to be produced this quarter at the company’s Singapore plant. The Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre in Jurong is set to produce 30,000 vehicles a year by 2025. The newly unveiled Ioniq 6 and new Kona Electric will also be assembled there. For the local market, the company has modified the motor power of the battery EV to meet the Certificate of Entitlement (COE) criteria for Category A vehicles. - Car-sharing firm GetGo to add 50 S'pore-made electric vehicles to its fleet in 2023Local car-sharing outfit GetGo will add around 50 Hyundai electric vehicles (EVs) that are made in Singapore to its fleet next year. The announcement was made on Thursday (May 26) at an event with its automotive partner, Hyundai Motor Innovation Centre in Singapore (HMGICS). Launched in 2021, GetGo said it has a fleet of more than 1,400 vehicles spread across 1,300 locations in Singapore. The company aims to grow the fleet to 2,500 vehicles by the end of this year and 10,000 vehicles by 2030.25 Nov 2024
