Data Sources

Full disclosure of the primary public sources used to build Scam.SG profiles and TrustScore signals.

Our Data Sources

Scam.SG draws on multiple publicly available data sources to build entity profiles and compute TrustScore. We continuously expand our data coverage as new authoritative public sources become available. The sources listed below represent our primary categories — they are not exhaustive of every signal we ingest.

Primary Registry Data

ACRA Open Dataset (data.gov.sg). The primary registry source for all business entity profiles on Scam.SG. Fields sourced include UEN, entity name, entity status, entity type, SSIC codes, registration date, registered address, number of officers, annual return date, and former entity names. Published under the Singapore Open Data Licence.

Regulatory and Enforcement Sources

We cross-reference entity data against multiple Singapore regulatory and enforcement sources, including:

  • MAS Investor Alert List and Financial Institutions Directory — publicly available from the Monetary Authority of Singapore
  • CaseTrust business registry — publicly available consumer protection scheme
  • IMDA InvoiceNow / Peppol Directory — publicly available e-invoicing network registration
  • Singapore Police Force advisories and public scam alerts
  • Other publicly available regulatory, enforcement, and government watchlist sources

Community and User-Submitted Data

Community scam reports. Submitted by members of the public via the Scam.SG reporting flow. All reports are reviewed by the Scam.SG moderation team before publication. Published reports represent community observations, not verified findings of fraud.

Consumer reviews. Submitted by members of the public. Reviewed before publication. Disputed reviews are flagged.

Seller Feedback Centre submissions. Submitted by e-commerce sellers via the Seller Feedback Centre. Used to identify buyer behaviour patterns across platforms. All submissions are anonymous.

Business-Submitted Data

Documents submitted by business entities during the Scam.SG claim or verification process are used to validate and enrich profile data. These documents are not published on the platform.

Open Web and Digital Signals

Domain registration data, website presence, social media presence, and digital footprint signals are discovered via open web methods or submitted by the business. These supplement registry data as inputs to the TrustScore Digital Footprint dimension.

What This Page Does Not List

We intentionally do not list every individual data signal or API endpoint used in TrustScore computation, as this information is proprietary. The categories above represent where our data originates. If you have a question about a specific data point on your profile, contact us via scam.sg/contact-us.
